About

Orlando Latorre is a puertorrican jazz trumpet player, singer, arranger, composer and producer. Raised in Ponce where he started to play trumpet at the "Instituto de Music Juan Morell Campos"  at the age of 11. Meanwhile he was a part of the institution, he has played for the Big Band, Symphonic Orchestra, Concert Band and the Brass Quartet. At the age of 16, Orlando began with his group called "Southjazz" which consisted of 7 musicians. With Southjazz, he performed in the "Long Weekends at Palmas del Mar Jazz Fest" in Humacao, Puerto Rico and also he performed in the "Noches Al Fresco" at the Arts Museum in his hometown.

In 2013, he moved to San Juan where he began to study in the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico. Later on, he moved to Boston and began studying at Berklee College of Music. During that time, he has performed and recorded with bands and artist such like Danilo Perez, Misa E' Gallo, Leehom Wang, Totó La Momposina, Eguie Castrillo, Chris Emkey and Jesús Molina.

Some of the current venues and festivals where he has performed are the Heineken Jazz Fest, Ventana al Mar Jazz Fest, "Teatro La Perla", Berklee Performance Center, Beantown Jazz Festival, Berklee Encore Gala, Scullers Jazz Club, Boston Symphony Hall and House of Blues Boston.
